iPhone Case Not a Donkey

This cow was created to celebrate Ask a Stupid Question Day, on Sep 30, 2020, and is available in the No Meat Today app as a special look any cow attracted that day will put on.

🐮 Story of this cow

I was shocked when I saw my first donkey. It wasn't grey, it was brown. So, of course, when came the time to make a donkey-looking cow, I decided to not care about this at all and I made a grey donkey.

Ask a Stupid Question Day is a movement to invite kids to ask questions without being afraid to sound ridicule.

You and I know that it doesn't stop with school. The longer you work at something, the harder it is to ask a stupid question. After all, you've been at this for so long, you should know the answer to this simple question, right?

But if you can stomach to sound stupid, you might be helpful to others.

I remember visiting a client with a senior at my first job. The client was explaining to us how the factory worked, using a lot of lingoes I did not understand. I was taking notes and did not dare to ask questions every time something was unclear. The senior wasn't asking about those things either, so surely I knew about them and I would just look stupid.

We got out of the room, and I asked the senior if he had understood everything because to me those terms made little sense. He was as clueless as I was. I remember laughing but being mostly speechless. It was the first time someone was so candid about pretending to know something to avoid sounding stupid. We'd have to figure things out the hard way.

When asking a stupid question, keep in mind that the more people in the room, the more likely it is that there are other people who also don't know the answer but were too afraid to ask.

🧬 Is it still a cow?

Well, yes. Cows in No Meat Today are notorious shape-shifters, but their spirit always remains one of a cow.

🤔 You forgot the brand. Are you insane?

I have decided not to put the "No Meat Today" name on any of the products for several reasons :

• There's no room for it without killing the aesthetic. On the stickers, it would mess with the cut, and on prints, I would have to spend hours placing the name correctly for each print size, plus I find that it attracts the eye too much
  
• I would rather have you enjoy clean designs multiple times every day rather than improve my chances for another sale. The occurrence of the former vastly outweighs that of the latter, and I want you to be happy.
  
• The name is not the brand, the cow is: the cow is the brand, and while there are designs (like the Bantha) that take some distance from it, they mostly look alike. My daughter calls them all "daddy's cow." ☺️

🙌 Where will my money go?

About 60% of the price before shipping goes to Gumroad (here), Printful (printer), and Taxes.

The rest goes to me, but I redirect 5% towards charities acting in favor of animal welfare, oceans & trees.

👋 Wait, who are you again, and what am I doing here?

My name is Arnaud Joubay (@sowenjub), and I created an iOS app called No Meat Today to help me eat less meat. It became way too idiotic and useful to keep it just to myself, so I decided to publish it.

Since then, I've been creating more and more cows that you can unlock in the app on special occasions.

Regarding what you are doing here, some of it is clear (your parents did something good, you, and you followed a web link or something), and some aren't. If you're like most of us, you might be procrastinating about some boring thing you'll end up doing in a rush, or it's bedtime, and you used your phone even though you need to sleep and swore not to do that anymore.

Anyhow, stop all that thinking, and treat yourself; you deserve it.
